March 24, 2008- Say Goodbye To XP
The news is out! Microsoft released the news that in June, XP will no longer be an option for computer users. I guess Microsoft's little monopoly has won the battle against the public again. I mean, there are other OS's out there, but really, have you ever gotten your hands on anything better than a Microsoft OS? I think Apple has about the closest competition, but Microsoft is one step ahead of the game in that department. So, that being said, the million of computers that are running XP will eventually have to conform to Gate's new masterpeice are obviously making a bad choice by not making the move now so that they can get used to the somewhat different GUI. My opinion, change now or be left in the dark when XP updates are no longer available and getting software that is compatible with it has diminished.
February 9, 2008- 16GB ITOUCH
I purchased the 16GB iTouch this week. I think it may turn out to be one of the greatest additions to my technology collection. Learning how these things work can become quite crazy. If it had not been for Google, I don't think I would be as far as I am in the learning process. I am posting this blog to give the valuable information that I learned so far. First, getting movies to work with it was terrible. I mean, despite the copyright laws, I don't see why the user should have to pay AGAIN for a DVD that they've already purchased. So, I absolutely refuse to pay Apple to get the movie from iTines. I searched the Internet looking for an alternative and found many useless tools (that which caused me to have to defrag my computer after deleting all of those "just-don't-work" programs. Anyway, I found a program that is both quick and achieves the desired result to add DVDs from your collection to your iTouch. It's the DVD to iPod Converter from Cucusoft. It's only $29.95 and it works really fast. I will post more as I learn more about the iTouch. *by no means do I support pirating*
January 22, 2008- WINDOWS SEVEN I just got through reading an article about the new Windows Operating System that was scheduled to be released towards the end of 2010. This OS was dubbed Windows Seven. I have been with Vista since it was released last year and I find that there aren't many positive things to say other than that it's "prettier" than XP. I feel as though it still needs a lot of work. Well, instead of working on the OS that software companies have faught tooth and nail to keep their products compatible with, the rumor is Microsoft has decided to release it as close as the beginning of 2009! Wait a minute....why on Earth would Microsoft want to release yet another crappy OS before they get all of the kinks out of the one that is hardly even close to "good"? All i can say is Bill Gates.....take a day off and fix Vista. |
